Pet day🐕‍🦺🐤😺

 Pet Day Today!

Today was Pet Day at school and honestly it wasn’t that good. The moment I walked into the classroom, we all looked at our art and see who won. Madeleine, Cattleya, and I think Maliya all got are awards for their pieces of art.

The Hall and bottom field  turned into a mini zoo. There were dogs of all sizes,  cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, calf and lambs

What I liked most was that some pets wore costumes, some had little tricks to show, and others were just happy being patted.

I’m tired now, but it was the best school day we’ve had in ages. 🐶🐱🐇🐠

Cross country

The Day of Cross Country

All around me, the other runners crouched forward like really good runners waiting to be released. My legs trembled, from the cold morning breeze, and the from nerves. Then I hear a sound it was

“Go!”

The field erupted into chaos. Bare feet pounded the grass, arms pumped furiously, and within seconds I was swallowed into runners. The first stretch felt easy, my feet bouncing off the ground like springs. But as soon as we hit the hill, reality kicked in. My lungs burned, my throat felt dry, and my legs turned heavy, as though someone had tied weights to them.

As I came up the top of the hill I could hear the crowd up ahead—parents, teachers, friends—shouting names,  cheering. Their voices mixed into a blur, but it was enough to push me forward. A girl beside me slowed to a walk, I clenched my fists and kept running. “Just to the 2 more laps to go ,” I told myself. Then, “Just to the corner.” Breaking the race into tiny goals was the only way I could keep going.

As we rounded the final hill, the finish line came into sight. My body screamed at me to stop, but my mind shouted louder: Don’t quit now. I found one last burst of energy, sprinting with everything I had left. The world around me blurred. I crossed the line, chest heaving, sweat dripping, but with a smile stretching across my face.

I hadn’t come first, or even close—but I had finished 8th but at least I did my best. And in that moment, that felt like victory.

The creepy guy on the seat.

A few weeks ago my friends made a person on the chair,  now when I say made i mean made a person on the chair out of a student leader jumper and a peice of paper. They drew a simple face on the peice of paper and tied the jumper on the chair. it was nice to have a little laugh in class because usauly just work and boringness boring, boring, boring soooo boring. This is the picture of the creepy cuy on the seat-

I hope he comes back to class. Thank you for visiting us creepy guy, RREEEEHHHEEEHHHEEEEEE.

We are learning about string and stick games this term!

This is our WALT

1: Understand and perform the basic actions and sequences of a selected Te Ao Māori string game (whai).

WALT 2: Understand and perform the basic actions and rhythms of a selected Te Ao Māori stick game (tītī tōrea).

This term we’re learning about stick and string games. The first string game we played was the cup and saucer that was really fun for me and Madeline. At the start we couldn’t figure out how to get the strings around our fingers well.I think Madeline was having a bit of trouble so i helped her.. We still enjoy doing it and we got it at the end. The stick games were really fun. We learn how to do the beat with the song. We taught some other people from the other class how to do it. We were all very well beat.

When we started throwing sticks it didn’t really work because maddie kept on trying not to throw them too hard so they all ended up in their lap and we got really angry at her. We had to start again once. We’ve done it like 20 times!!!

PRODUCTION TODAY

Today’s production and I’m really excited about it but I’m also nervous because this was my first production and probably my last production. I can’t wait to do the production. My purakau is about glow worms and this is are story.

Once upon a time they was a cave in wiatitoki and it was full glow worms and it glowed like a town. One day the pakeha put in a culvert so now you can not see the glow worms. One story say the a Maori stood up on the hill and could not see the glow worms.

Our costumes include a tutu, black shorts ,black socks,Some t-shirt  green or brown t-shirts and they’re baggy so that we can tie the lights on the back and  some face paint also some cute  little glowing lights on our butts. You can choose whether your face paint is an Elsa Crown or a half a face of strips.

I can’t wait for my family to see me.

I think that we could have done way better because our practises were way better. The song at the start was a low in sound. I think are class did well. But we were super lucky that we got to do it. Miss Bates was crying because we were amazing!!!
